I think this is sharks file. All pepped and heading out to be resined.
After being resined and primed a few times. I used smooth-cast 326 from smoothon (red so strong tint) Its what I had around at the time. I also cut out the eyes. Im going to fabricate those later.
Up to this point the helmet has been sanded a 2nd time, and the shaping and smoothing process has started to really come together. In these pictures the bondo has been applied in a super thin coat. 1st layer of this process. Before now the helmet has 3 coats of fiberglass resin jelly.
Circled minor low/ flat spots getting ready for the 3rd pass.
Yeah looks like Im on the farm. LOL It is just the shadiest spot near the shop. It is like 105 in the shade here. YUCK!!!!Sanding the high and low spots out. It took forever to fabricate those bolts too. LOL Can you see my autobot in the background?
Molding time!!!!!! Also If you notice that the background scenery changes... LOL Yes The molding stage was interrupted half way because I moved it and the rest of my company to Springfield, MA. 22 hour drive to the new shop. Another blog post soon about that...
First Castings. Since these I have cast out better helmets I will post pics of them soon!
There will be more Iron Man later.
